Christmas treats to make at home


That time of year has come around again, Christmas is finally around the corner. To get us all in the festive spirit there are a few ideas of ways to make you and your kids excited and full of Christmas cheer. At Edibee we love making food with creativity and creating happy memories and are full of spreading that Christmas Cheer. We have put together some simple recipes that you can make easily with your loved ones.


Oreo Snowman


What you will need

  • Oreo's

  • White chocolate bar

  • Chocolate chips

  • Smarties

  • Mini marsh mellows

  • Milk Chocolate chips


Method

  1. Use half the bar and break it into pieces. Melt the chocolate in the microwave for about 45 seconds

  2. Place the Oreo's on a fork and cover one side with chocolate and flip over to cover the other side. Repeat this step with all Oreo's and place them on a plate

  3. Place 2 marsh mellows and use some remaining white chocolate add on top 2 chocolate chips to use as eyes and place some chocolate chips in the form of a smile. Use a single orange smarties and place it in the middle as a nose.

  4. Place the Oreo's in the fridge to harden for about 1 hour

  5. Once the chocolate has hardened your snowman Oreo are ready to eat.



Snowman Marshmallow hot chocolate stirrers


What you will need

  • Marshmallows

  • Skewers

  • Milk chocolate

  • Decorating icing pens

  • A cup of hot chocolate

Method

  1. Put 2 medium size marshmallows onto a skewer

  2. Melt 2 rows of chocolate in the microwave, stirring after every 30 seconds.

  3. Use the melted chocolate to dot two eyes with a toothpick, dots in the shape of a smile, and add a line on the 2nd marshmallow to make a arm

  4. Use the decorating icing pen to make a dot or little line for a nose. And if preferred to draw a scarf (tip: put the pen for 10 seconds in the microwave to make the icing softer)

  5. Your snowman is ready to be stirred in the hot chocolate



Reindeer Food


What you will need

  • 1/2 cup of oats

  • Nuts

  • Raisins

  • Glass dish

  • White Felt (or white cardboard)

  • Brown Felt (or brown cardboard)

  • Glue (gun)

Method


  1. Place the raisins in first at the bottom of the piping bag. Place the oats and nuts on top

  2. Pour the Oats and Nuts into a glass dish bowl and stir around. You can also use muesli

  3. Cut out 2 antlers out of the brown felt and stick them at the back of the glass.

  4. Cut out 2 small circles out of the white felt and draw on a black dot on each circle. Next stick them on the front of the glass for eyes .

  5. Cut out a medium size circle out of the white felt and colour this in red. Sick this beneath the eyes to use as your nose

  6. Place outside for the reindeer's to enjoy on Christmas eve.
